Application data is not accessible access is denied vista

In Vista and Windows 7 it now points to cusersusernameappdataroaming. Usually when your external hard drive shows the Drive is not accessible. The USB drive is not partitioned at all. In Windows 2KXP it pointed to cdocuments and settingsusernameapplication data. So to fix the issue you have to take ownership to get permission. The Windows 7 computer has a folder shared with the Homegroup.

Application Data is not accessible. If the flash drive is a brand-new disk and there is not any partition on it then the system wont recognize it. Windows 7 treats your account as much as it cans as a regular user.

You should see the shortcut for Windows Explorer. Wait and let this program to scan and find your lost folder. Edit: Beat me to it, remember to make sure that the original user still has rights as well otherwise this can cause havoc.

A Junction is a shortcut that redirects files and programs to a different location.

There is a good explanation of Junction Points at the following website. To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. Get answers from your peers along with millions of IT pros who visit Spiceworks. Best Answer.

I'm trying to open it on my current Windows Explorer session: but now I've got it I've tried this as the solution: 1. Click edit 6. Highlight your user name and check the replace owner on subcontainers and objects checkbox, click apply then ok. Then press ok on all of the other windows to exit out of them. Once thats done see if you can gain access to the selected folders. If you run into any problems let me know.
